da realsbet: According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are closely monitoring Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell with the view to a move for the defender next summer.
What’s the story?
da bwin: Tottenham failed to bring any new players to the club during the summer transfer window, but have been linked with January moves for the likes of Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong and Porto’s Hector Herrera.
The capital outfit are already said to be preparing for next summer, meanwhile, as they look to become a serious challenger for the Premier League title.
According to The Telegraph, Spurs are keeping tabs on Chilwell, who has impressed for Leicester in the early stages of the 2018-19 campaign.
The 21-year-old is currently with the England senior squad ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Switzerland having been handed a call-up by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate.
Arsenal and Liverpool have both previously been linked with moves for Chilwell, but Tottenham should ensure that they win the race for the left-back.
Why should Tottenham sign Chilwell?
Ben Davies appeared in 29 of Tottenham’s 38 Premier League matches last season as he became the club’s first-choice left-back ahead of Danny Rose.

Neither Davies nor Rose have really convinced the Tottenham supporters on a regular basis, however, and the London club have long been linked with a swoop for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon as they look to improve the left side of their defence.
Chilwell should be the number one target for Spurs, however, with the Englishman capable of becoming one of the best full-backs in European football.
The 5ft 10in ace will only have two years left to run on his current Leicester deal at the end of this season, although the Foxes will be desperate to extend the contract of a player who has made four Premier League appearances this term.
There is no question that Chilwell would be an upgrade on both Davies and Rose, and Tottenham should fight hard to secure his signature.
