da leao: Tottenham midfielder Sandro has stated that he believes that his side can still catch Arsenal and finish third in the Premier League.
The White Hart Lane club have had a dramatic dip in form since the start of March, and have went from a comfortable third place to scraping for fourth with Newcastle and Chelsea.
Spurs take on Bolton at the Reebok Stadium on Wednesday night, and Sandro feels that Harry Redknapp’s men can still catch their north London rivals.
“The league is getting very tight now and the last three games — Bolton, Villa and Fulham — will all be like cup finals for us,” he told The Sun.
“We can catch Arsenal and finish third. This is my dream and the whole team as well.
“We know we could finish fourth and not get in the Champions League if Chelsea win against Munich in the final so that makes finishing third extra important.”
Sandro played an important role in Spurs’ 2-0 win over Blackburn last time out, despite throwing up in the first half; the Brazil international explained the reason behind the illness.
“I was ill in the first half but I knew I just had to play on. It is difficult getting a place in midfield.
“I ate too much before the game. The doctors have also told me I am drinking too much fluid before the match so I have to cut back,” he concluded.
