In a conference call with club investors following the release of United’s financial figures, Woodward strongly defended the recruitment policy in place at Old Trafford.
The 47-year-old insisted the Red Devils are going about things the right way, and that understandably prompted many supporters of the Manchester side to flood to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the matter.

Many United fans couldn’t believe what Woodward said, and revealed they are stunned by the “utter delusion” of the club’s key figure.
Some went into meltdown, and suggested the club is now “finished”, with one fan in particular insisting they are going to give up with supporting the club.
