da aviator aposta: According to reports in The Sun, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has urged the club to make a £40m move for Tottenham Hotspur left-back and Manchester United target Danny Rose as a deal for Juventus’ Alex Sandro looks to be all but dead.
What’s the word, then?
da betway: Well, Blues boss Conte has been keen to strengthen in the wing-back positions to provide Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses with more competition going into what is going to be a busy season as the club returns to the group stages of the Champions League.
The Sun says that despite trailing Sandro for much of the summer, the Italian has conceded that he is unlikely to sign the Brazilian as Juventus demand £60m for the 26-year-old.
Now The Sun says that Conte wants to sign Rose, who is also a target for Manchester United, with Southampton left-back and former Blue Ryan Bertrand considered to be a back-up option to the 27-year-old.
How did Rose do last season?
Well, the England international has been out of action since January after picking up a knee injury and he only recently returned to full training.
However, the 27-year-old certainly made a big impression in the first-half of the campaign for Spurs by scoring two goals and providing a further four assists from left-back in 21 appearances in all competitions.
Would he be a good signing for Chelsea?
He certainly would be.
Rose has established himself as one of the best in his position in the Premier League over the course of the last few seasons while he is probably England’s first-choice left-back if he is fit enough to play despite competition from the likes of Bertrand, Luke Shaw and Aaron Cresswell.
While he is strong defensively – he made 63 clearances and successfully won 35 tackles in 18 English top flight appearances – he also showed how good he can be going forward by creating 26 chances and successfully completing 25 take-ons, and he would be perfect in the wing-back role.
What’s the verdict, then?
Well, with Tottenham already losing Kyle Walker to Manchester City this summer they certainly won’t want to lose Rose as well, and it would probably take an offer of far more than £40m for Spurs to even consider selling the 27-year-old to a potential title rival in Chelsea.
