da 888casino: Recent reports have been linking Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux with a move to the Premier League with Chelsea being the most likely candidates to acquire his signature.
Marveaux, 24, has been dubbed the ‘next Florent Malouda’ and many in France believe he can follow in the Chelsea midfielders footsteps in the English top-flight. But his agent Tim Hager disagrees and believes the player is not ready for a move to a big name club like Carlo Ancelotti’s side or Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United.
Hager told Sport.co.uk: “The player is not ready to play for a club of Chelsea or Manchester United’s standing. He wants to make the first step, and then move to a bigger club later in his career.
“He wants to go to a club in the Europa League, and not a Champions League club. It is looking like he wants to go to Germany.
“The player wants to learn his trade and take it step by step until he is ready to make the move to a big club.”
He’s 24, if he is not ready now when will he be? Surely a big move could be an exciting prospect for a player who will be approaching his prime in a few years time and it could benefit to have his education at a big club if he does believe he is good enough.
Rennes may allow him to go on a cut-price deal if any offers come in though as Marveaux has a year left on the contract rather than let him go for free next summer.

The 24-year-old scored 10 goals and seven assists this past season playing as a left midfielder or in a supporting striker role. Even though Malouda and Yuri Zhirkov, who can play a number of different positions are already at Chelsea a move for Marveaux could be a wise move if the likes of Manchester United are tracking him. He is also a potential replacement for a player that will be turning 30 this summer. Also, Guy Hilton, a French-based Chelsea scout has recommended him to Ancelotti.
It isn’t out of the question that Marveaux and Malouda could not fit into the same XI and he could even learn a lot from the Stamford Bridge outfit’s best performers during their double winning campaign. Malouda has shown that he is capable of playing on the left of a three man midfield, in a more attacking role on the left wing and even at the tip of Ancelotti’s initial diamond formation.
With a few players linked with the exit door at Stamford Bridge such as Joe Cole, Juliano Belletti, Deco, Paulo Ferreira, Ricardo Carvalho and Michael Ballack’s future is also unclear as he is yet to agree a new contract, but will likely stay as he is doing his injury rehab at the west London club. Ashley Cole is also attracting a lot of interest from soon-to-be Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho. The troubled left-back is an astonishing player, but his loyalty is questionable and Zhirkov (a player competing for a left midfield role) could end up occupying that fullback slot as it does not make much sense to have an £18 million pound player on the bench, so I’d argue that the club should cash in on Cole and get as much as they can out of Madrid.
Chelsea are also said to be keen in lowering the average age of their squads and may target young signings as well as promoting five players from within their own ranks, young players who look promising after winning the FA Youth Cup.
Furthermore, £8 million does not get you a whole lot today and going for Marveaux is a lot better than shelling out extortionate amounts for English and Premier League stars such as Aston Villa’s James Milner who has been linked with a host of clubs for a hefty price tag.
