da esoccer bet: According to the Daily Mail, West Brom are keen to sign Leicester City outcast Andy King on a loan deal in the upcoming January transfer window.
What’s the story?
da dobrowin: King has been with the Foxes since graduating from their academy in 2004, and was part of the squad that won a remarkable Premier League title under Claudio Ranieri in the 2015/16 season. With 378 appearances for the club to his name, King will go down as a Leicester legend.
However, he is clearly now surplus to requirements at the King Power Stadium. Current boss Claude Puel hasn’t even registered the 30-year-old midfielder in his Premier League squad, meaning King’s only club-level action is currently coming with the under-23s.
The 50-cap Wales international must now seek pastures new to get his career back on track.
The Playmaker FC squad decided to wind-up some unsuspecting Brazil fans at the Emirates on Saturday night. Watch the hilarious results in the video below…
Plenty of Championship clubs would be wise to move for King in the winter window, but the Hawthorns would be the ideal destination for the midfielder.
Plenty left to give
Darren Moore’s Baggies squad currently lacks a bit of depth in the middle of the park. King would bring further experience, energy and creativity to this part of the pitch.
The Welshman will also be eager to prove a point about his quality. Having been shunned by Puel at Leicester, the midfielder must surely be keen to remind everyone of his ability. At 30, he still has plenty of football left in him, and he could have a genuine impact for West Brom as a younger version of the 37-year-old Gareth Barry.
What do you think, Baggies fans, would King be a smart January recruit?
