Marcelo Bielsa is keen on using young players within his Leeds squad.
After all, he’s given debuts to Alfie McCalmont and Mateusz Bogusz this season while relying on Jamie Shackleton in the middle of the park too.
He’s gifted further minutes to Leif Davis in the Carabao Cup, as well as handing a regular place on the bench to Robbie Gotts.
However, during a time where Leeds only have two out-and-out strikers in the senior squad, Ryan Edmondson is nowhere to be seen.
The 18-year-old netted his first goal in the England youth setup over the last international break as he tried his utmost to send a statement to his manager.

Edmondson has played just once under the Argentine and that was a mere 19 minutes against Birmingham just over a year ago.
He was granted a place on the bench versus Brentford and Ipswich last term but he has never started for the club in competitive action.
The teenager netted a hat-trick against Tadcaster Albion in pre-season but not even that has done enough for him to earn a regular spot in the first team.
At 18 years of age, this is someone who now needs to be playing but that looks unlikely if reports are to be believed.
Leeds fielded strong interest in him over the summer but a new report has claimed they won’t loan him out in January.
In some senses, it’s risky business from Leeds who are playing a dangerous game with Edmondson’s development.
One of the most promising players to come through their academy, already being granted a senior chance in recent years, his lack of regular action is currently unlikely to help.
Steve Torpey, Edmondson’s former coach at York, told YEP earlier this season: “I think he probably needs, in my humble opinion, to go and play senior football.
“With the 23s, where he’s scored lots of goals and done really well, is it the same as playing senior football in the League or even at the Conference level? Probably not.”
Keeping him for the first half of the season made sense given a lack of options up front but with Eddie Nketiah struggling for opportunities, Edmondson is arguably never going to get one himself.
With that in mind, perhaps loaning him out and presenting him a chance further down the EFL would be a wise move.
Nketiah has also been playing for the U23s so his game time at that level has been reduced too.
Right now, it fails to make much sense having Edmondson around unless he plays.
You feel as though Leeds would be gambling with his progression if they didn’t grant him a temporary stay elsewhere.
