da bet nacional: West Bromwich Albion boss Slaven Bilic has elected for Hal Robson-Kanu to lead his line in recent matches despite spending a combined £12m on two strikers in the summer.
And Charlie Austin’s glowing review of the Welshman only goes to show why the Croatian has made such a decision.

What’s he said?
Robson-Kanu has made over 100 appearances at the Hawthorns since joining the club in 2016, but this season is proving to be his most lucrative in a Baggies shirt.
The 30-year-old bagged four goals in his last six matches before Wednesday night’s game with Bristol City and was granted the opportunity to start back-to-back matches for the first time this season.

Speaking to the Express & Star, Austin lauded Robson-Kanu, he said:
“Not just in the games but also when he’s come off the bench he has been top drawer.
“He’s been fantastic. He is a great outlet, holding the ball up and scoring goals. As a striker you always want to score goals and Hal is certainly doing that now, helping the team go forward up the pitch.
“He is a top player and deserves all the success he is having so far.”
Starting striker
Austin has struggled to adapt to life in the west Midlands scoring just his second goal of the season from the spot against Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.
His poor run of form has opened up the opportunity for Robson-Kanu, and so far, he has taken it with both hands.
The former Southampton man’s comments over his teammate only further paints the picture of why he’s been dropped in favour of his rival striker, and it could suggest the things he needs to do himself in games to catch Bilic’s eye.
Austin needs to become that ‘great outlet’ which scores goals soon; otherwise, he’ll continue to face time on the bench, and with January on the horizon, might the Croatian want to strengthen that department even more?
They have been linked to Dwight Gayle after all…
