da pinup bet: Sheffield Wednesday have an array of players out of contract in the summer, and with no news on any extensions yet, could the club look to move a few on for financial gain?
da luck: Sheffield Star reporter Alex Miller believes one player, in particular, would be free to go.
What’s he said?
The Owls take a break from league action on Friday night as they face Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup fourth round.
There’s also the matter of an away trip to Wigan Athletic next Tuesday to contend with as there’s only a week to go in the transfer market.
Speaking in a recent Q&A, Miller believes Fernando Forestieri could be at risk of leaving should any suitable offer come in for him.
He said:
“Fernando Forestieri is on his way to recovery, though Monk has suggested he’ll feature for the under-23s before being thrown back into first team contention.
“The evidence suggests that the Owls boss doesn’t quite seem to fancy Forestieri and you have to think that for a player on his wages, with his contract up in the summer, any bid would be considered.”

Outcast
The 29-year-old has become an anonymous sight at Hillsborough since Garry Monk took the helm in September.
Since then, Forestieri has started just one game from ten appearances in all competitions, playing a total of only 312 minutes per Transfermarkt.

As Miller eludes to, Monk doesn’t quite fancy him with Adam Reach, Jacob Murphy and Kadeem Harris often getting the nod on either wing.
He also is out of contract in the summer, so why would he be kept on if he’s struggling to get a game now.
However, there has to be question marks over whether or not any bid would actually come in for him as the Argentinian born forward has failed to hit similar numbers to that he achieved in his first two seasons at Hillsborough.
Who the heck is that?! Can you name all of these obscure Sheffield Wednesday players…
He has only totalled 11 goals across the last two Championship campaigns, less than he managed in the back-to-back playoff runs under Carlos Carvalhal.
Monk also revealed in his pre-game press conference that there was ‘nothing to report’ in terms of outgoings yet in this window.
And in other news, Sheffield Wednesday appear to be some way off clinching one loan target before the deadline…
