da cassino: Many Tottenham Hotspur fans are delighted at the news that first-choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has ‘returned to training’ ahead of the team’s Premier League clash away at Burnley tomorrow evening (via Tottenham Hotspur website).
da brwin: He has been out of the picture for a while because of a groin injury and understudies Paulo Gazzaniga and Michel Vorm have had to take his place. Spurs have gone five games in all competitions without a win, including in their last outing on Wednesday night when they eventually lost 3-2 to Norwich City on penalties after a 1-1 stalemate in extra-time. Vorm was in goal for that night and only managed to make one save in the shootout, after making an error leading to the Canaries’ equaliser in his only appearance for the club this season (via Sofascore).
Lloris has only made 16 appearances across all competitions this season, largely because of injury (via Transfermarkt). He has only managed to claim two shutouts though, both coming in the Premier League. He has also conceded 26 times across the competitions. However, these Spurs fans are still delighted that their club captain has returned to full training and they will hope he can make a comeback with the second leg away at RB Leipzig in the Champions League approaching.
Many Spurs fans expressed their delight on Twitter, with one fan pleading for the 33 year-old to ‘save us’:
